I’ve been taking lots of photos this week. I thought it would be easier to post the links under one post rather than making a number of posts. I apologize for the quality of the photos. We lost the instruction manual for our digital camera & I can’t find the best setting for the flash. I’ve done as much “photoshopping” as I can to improve the look.
Sulli-Willi’s Christmas Lunch
The seniors group of the two churches (Sullivan – Williamsford = Sulli-Willi’s) hosted a catered roast beef meal on Monday. What great food! Then we sang Christmas carols – with a manic version of the 12 Days of Christmas. Click here for photos.
Confirmation Students at the Food Bank
Our four confirmation students and some of their families helped to pack 40 Christmas hampers at the Salvation Army Food Bank depot. We also ‘tore down’ a lot of cardboard boxes for recycling so that helped clean things up as well. Afterwards we went out to Pizza Hut for a treat. Click here to see the gang at work and play.
Decorating St. Peter’s Tree
On Tuesday we decorated the St. Peter’s Christmas tree. The evening started with a Chilli supper. Note the one photo of crochet snow flakes hanging from a wire strung across the gallery. They aren’t there now. The flakes were on a string & the string was on a paper clip and the paper clip was hooked on the wire. I had the long pole which I was supposed to slide the snowflakes across the wire. After causing 3 of 5 snowflakes to flitter down to the floor — the group decided we wouldn’t put the flakes on the wire. I had a little depth perception problem & I spent more time poking the wire rather than sliding the flakes!!!

Decorating St. James’ Tree
On Wednesday the partying continues. We were over to St. James to eat supper and decorate the tree. I’m going to get into trouble by centering my praise on one person … but Phyllis M. makes the best desserts! She made a triffle that was out of this world!!! Click here for photos.
On Wednesday, we hosted the Georgian Bay Lutheran Ministerial monthly meeting here at the parsonage. Then we went into Desboro to the Tavern and had a great lunch.
I am trying to not gain weight, but I have NO will power. So, I’ve decided to enjoy myself in moderation!
Is it not a party week every week for you, Kristin?!?! This whole Vicar learning experience is all about learning to visit, eat, drink and be merry, isn’t it??!?!
Mary – do you have to let all of my secrets out???
Party week has been pretty much my experience … it always starts on Monday nights with the confirmation students because they bring the best treats to share! I only have to wait 7.5 hours for confirmation … oh but, I’m heading into Owen Sound to go & bottle my 30 bottles of white wine that I bought at the Sacrificial Auction … and then I go out to lunch with a lady friend … and then I’m over to another person’s place to visit … and I just got back from a 2 hour walk with two wonderful women.
So I guess my party day started at 8:00 a.m. and won’t end until 8:00 when confirmation is over. How do I stand the pressure??? Don’t tell the chair of the Internship Cmt. that I’m having more fun than work!
For a bottle or two of that wine, I am almost certain I could keep your all-fun-little-work secret from the Internship Committee chair!! OR perhaps you should have a wine-tasting for the Internship Committee the evening you fill your reports….
Great photos!
