It is with not too much sorrow that I announce the demise of the snow ledge. The overnight combination of +5 degree temperature and some rain caused the snow ledge to slip away quietly during the night. (I wanted to say I was awoken by the thunderous roar of an avalanche, but Mary suggested yesterday that there is quite a bit of exaggeration on this blog. I don’t know what she means by that!)
I believe I deserve some credit for listening to Gerald’s sage advice of “the weather will take care of it.” and, “It’s going to rain this week.” to actually get outside with my camera and take those wonderful photos.
I complained to Doug last night that no one had commented on one of my photos in particular. I challenged Doug, “Did you even look at my photos??” He said, “Yes.” I said, “One of my photos I intentionally took as my version of an ‘art shot’. Could you tell which one?” He said, “No.” Then I got a lecture on what art shots really are (tension between light and dark) and my use of angles could possibly be described as creative, but not art! I yawned on the phone. Doug didn’t like that response!
I confess that I did not look at the photos …. now I can’t. There’s no kleenex provided this site to wipe away all my tears. Seeing such beautiful photos of such a beautiful snow ledge no longer with us would simply be more than I could take.
You may facilitate communication but do you provide counselling?
Oh, wait a minute … I’ll need counselling, and intensive therapy, and kleenex … after spending Groundhog Day with you know who!
It has taken me until now (almost 5 p.m.) to recover from the shock of reading this morning from Kristin …. “I was awoken by…” YIKES! Whatever happened to “I was awakened by…”
Is the proper use of the English language, punctuation and grammar not taught in Saskatchewan??!
I struggled with ‘awaken’ or ‘awoken’ but I didn’t have the energy to open Word and do a grammar/spell check.
So I did just now and ‘awoken’ isn’t coming up as an error. I guess that means it’s a more sophisticated use of the English language than your used to.
What’s with the grammar police & your family? It’s about the content, not the grammar! Are you suggesting the content is ‘wanting’ (or ‘wonting’?)?
I blame it on genetics.
(Mom, has Kristin met Grandma Matthews yet? If not, I think that would be a fun visit…. for Grandma and Kristin!)
