Gathering at the Seminary

The roads finally re-opened on Monday morning at 7:30, and Nigel came by and snow-blowed out the driveway, and Pastor Sheilah and I were on our way! The roads between Chatsworth and Mount Forrest were quite snow packed. I was driving only 60 km/hr in the falling snow, which was a good thing when a gentleman pulled out in front of me from a side approach. I also had an oncoming vehicle approaching. I’m so glad Doug purchased extra-expensive snow tires last year! I was able to swerve into the other lane and then back before the other car hit me. From Mount Forrest to Fergus there were amazing snow drifts across the road that had to have been 6 feet high. The road crews had to use buckets to clear the road instead of blades. Once we got to Guelph it was sunny and the highways was clear and dry.

I’ve had a great time visiting with all the seminary students, staff and professors from the United Church, Anglican and Lutheran seminaries. Hugs are the best things! Pastor Sheilah, Doug, Fran (we stayed at Fran’s – my friend with whom I lived with while attending seminary) went for supper with a number of students.

Doug got Sheilah off to the airport for 6:00 a.m. There is a big storm in SK. I’m not sure we’ll get home to Regina today – but I’m here with Doug, so I’m not too concerned!

    I’m glad you’re having a good time.

You have to come back soon though, because I miss the entertainment that your blog provides! (I’m being serious here too, just in case it wasn’t clear…)

We are happy that you made it to Saskatoon. We know you will enjoy the next week with Doug and family.
We are having a grand time with PJ. She has the run of the house now as she knows where her food and litter box are. She is also very fascinated with Lucky our Cockateil. She has tried jumping from the floor to get at him, but is not having any luck. Liz had her on her tummy for part of the night and I woke up this morning with her laying on my legs. She has also accepted Mitzi now that she realizes there is no danger from another animal in the house.

PJ is “home, sweet, home” I’m so glad she’s settling in.
