Happy Birthday to our beautiful daughter, Emily.
I was overdue when Emily decided to be born – in a rush! At 7:00 in the morning, in the midst of a terrible storm, I’m phoning my neighbour to take Rhett (who was in kindergarten) as I was finally having back pains. The doctor said I should come into the hospital even though I wasn’t in labour. By the time Doug and I were heading downtown my back really hurt! We managed to get to the hospital and I think Emily was born within 40 minutes of our arrival!
I asked Emily today if she felt old. She said, “No.” Then I said, “By your age I was married.” She said, “Now I feel old.”
