How flat is Southern SK?

As Doug and I drove to Calgary last Friday to visit Rhett & Leah, I again had the opportunity to marvel at how flat southern SK really is and how I can see the beauty in this seemingly ‘nothingness’. I have to admit that I fall asleep almost automatically when I’m a passenger in a car – especially if I have a pillow! I did sleep many of the nine hours that it took us to drive to Calgary.

When I flew out of the Regina airport the skies were clear. How wonderful it was to see the vast rectangles, carpeted in snow, that make up the fields, interupted occasionally by creeks and farm buildings.

On the other hand, I didn’t much appreciate the -20′s weather with wind chill. The few times that I had to walk the dogs, I could barely stand it … now that I’ve become this pansy from Ontario!!

Pansy from Ontario, eh? Are you inviting the wrath of the Golem women against you??
