PJ is back in the Home Nest

John & Liz, who are going to adopted PJ, are wrapped around PJ’s paws! They looked after PJ while I was gone. When I arrived at their home for the prayer group meeting today, PJ was busy chasing the laser pointer “dot.” I thought I would be patient and ‘wait’ for PJ to come to me. YEAH RIGHT! When was the last time a cat did anything to please its owner???

I was beginning to feel like PJ had completely forgotten me. Maybe I should leave her with John & Liz now since she’s showing no interest in me. After fifteen minutes I could no longer stand being ignored by this cat. I swept her up in my arms and cradled her like a baby. I rubbed her cheeks and she nuzzled me. Awwwww, she hadn’t forgotten me. Right then I knew she was coming home with me! John tried his persuasive ways to keep PJ but I said “NO WAY – you have to wait!” John was only teasing because he said he didn’t want me to be all alone in the parsonage. He’s right, it makes a difference knowing she’s here, waiting for me.

PJ had a great visit with Mitzi the dog and Lucky the bird. Looks like they are all going to be best friends in a few months. I am truly comforted by knowing PJ is so loved by John & Liz and that she’ll have such a great home when I leave her.

One Response to PJ is back in the Home Nest

  1. John Pulley says:

Just a comment for all those folks who tune in on this website. I have hated cats for years. At our home in Kitchener we had a problem with water in our basement rec room. We had just finished having the room insulated, panelled, floor tiled and furniture placed including a tv. The first time that we went to use this room, a large puddle of water was lying under the tv. There had never been water there before. I discovered that our front flower bed, which I had cut an exit for water to drain away from the house, had been plugged shut. Evidence of a cat was apparent (I had seen a cat in the bed on previous occasions). A couple of days later (as I recollect) that cat was back in the flower bed. I scared the you know what out of it and I don’t believe I ever saw that one again and I never had any more water in my rec room. So now you know why I have had no use for cats. However……after seeing PJ on several occasions and knowing that Kristin was not going to take her home on her return to SK, I thought it would be nice to give PJ(for some reason she reminds me of a hair brush) a loving home. Having her in our home while Kristin was back home confirmed our desire to adapt PJ. If we have health problems with her we know that Terry Wagner will be there to resolve them.
End of sermon for this day!!
