Storm-Stayed at the Parsonage

Well, it is quite the day here in the Georgian Bay! I thought I knew all about storms, but I think today’s takes top prize. We’ve had a horrendous storm that has only gotten worse as the day went on. Worship services were cancelled at both churches. Gerald headed in early to pick-up Pastor Sheilah (Andy’s away babysitting & he has the vehicle) and brought her out to the parsonage in hopes that the weather would break and we’d make our 6:00 p.m. flight out of Hamilton. There was no way that would happen.

So what did Pastor Sheilah and I do to pass the afternoon away?? I love this photo to the right in the “feature photo” box. I call it “Pastor Sheilah – Laid Out in the Parlour”. She of course is playing along with my picture taking by looking as corpse like as possible! Click here to see a photo of PJ sitting on Pastor Sheilah chest sleeping. We’re getting a bit goofy out here …….. cabin fever!

I talked to my professor at the seminary and he still wanted us to come, so we have re-booked for a flight tomorrow night at 6:45 out of Hamilton and we’ll arrive at midnight in Saskatoon. Stay tuned for further weather developments! I’m really fortunate to be good friends with Nigel who snow blows my yard. I already have him lined up to clear me a path for tomorrow morning!

Oh I hope you get to fly out today – I’m sure you’re very excited for the retreat.

We did get away safely this morning. Right now I’m at Andy & Sheilah’s son’s house. Our flight is not for 6 hours.

John – I don’t have your email address with me. I’ve used all the paper litter in PJ’s box – so there’s none of the ‘specialty’ kitty litter (re: to protect PJ’s paws from litter dust). I’ve left the regular kitty litter, bag of food, & kennel on the office table (plus some papers for you & Liz). I know you’ll find everything! Thanks for taking care of ‘our’ girl!

Kristin: We were a little concerned about what we were to use for kitty litter for PJ. We were under the impression that the regular litter would be too tender on the paws. We looked for a note, but did not find anything, so on the way home from the parsonage, I called Terry and she thought it would be ok to use the litter that you left on the table. PJ sure likes to cuddle. She does not take to Mitzi too well though. Mitzi can’t understand why PJ wants to hiss and slap at her with the paws. Hopefully they will both get used to each other in time.
Have a safe trip, a good meeting with your fellow interns, a restfull holiday with family and friends and don’t forget “TO COME BACK.”

Hi John – I thought you would use the shredded newspaper that you had on hand. The regular litter was for after a week’s time. PJ will be fine either way, she’s had no problems with her toes. I’m sure you’ll have fun with the Mitzi/PJ exchanges! See you soon!

Kristin: We hope PJ doesn’t come back to you with a bark and we hope Mitzi doesn’t start mewing like a cat. We caught Mitzi at PJ’s dish yesterday and this morning PJ was at Mitzi’s dish. Andy started something with that laser pointer. PJ loves to chase that red dot. Having a great time.
