OK – the two don’t go together, but it caught your interest. On Friday night I attended my first Fish Fry. They are very popular down here. The Parish organized it to raise funds for the parsonage repairs (in preparation for the arrival of a new pastor). The white fish was good. I’m not sure how it was prepared (by a caterer) – it was in batter but I don’t think it was deep fried. 300+ people attended.
On Saturday, Mary, Mary & I attended a workshop called “Revive My Soul” – the speaker was very engaging and entertaining.
Today (Sunday) I spent a wonderful afternoon with a senior member as we toured three cemetaries (plus we had lunch at the Harrison Park Inn – yum!) The Desboro cemetary which is the public one and Faith Lutheran (LCC), St. Peter’s cemetary, and Cedarbrae cemetary which is no longer used. It is wonderful to learn of all the family connections.
You had a busy day!!I imagine you could relate names now that you have been here for eight months.
Question? Where is Jennifer?
I fell of the face of the earth.
Honestly, I’m starting grad school in Edmonton next week and I’ve been really busy with getting all the reading done that I need to do as well as getting ready to go away from home for 3 weeks (plus the usual work and house stuff and all of that).
Jennifer: Safe trip when you go to Edmonton. Be good while away from home. Hopefully Mike won’t get too lonesome while you are gone.
Be good? How dare you ask such a thing??
Not to worry …. Jennifer may look like her Daddy, but she acts like her mommy!! She’ll be fine!!!!
Ok, quick poll: who thinks my mom’s comment (#5) is comforting, and who thinks it is scary??
one vote for comforting … and the poll is now finished!
Wow! I go away for a few hours and I have this delightful banter to come back to! The poll isn’t closed. I vote for comforting too … because some might say my children are a lot like me and I know they’ll be fine, too.
And even though John disagrees … I still think Mary’s unique personality is vaguely similar to mine, which of couse I think is a good thing!
Jennifer – now don’t be a stranger! Post updates of your studies and your adventures in Edmonton as ‘comments’.
Doug … I’d be worried about your children if I were you! Gerald, however, need not worry about his!
Them’s there’s fight’n words!
I’m gentle hearted and timid of words just like you Mary … how could you be worried about my kids??
Jennifer: I vote scary!! Mary & Kristin similar?? I don’t think so.
