Last Saturday I travelled 2.5 hours east and north to Midland for a Georgian Bay Lutheran Conference convention. It is located on Geogian Bay and was at one time a major port…but no more. One of the most stunning things I’ve seen is the terminal silos which have been painted in a mural depicting the history. This photo alone is worth clicking here to see all the rest of the photos. There is also a well known shrine which commemorates the early Catholic priests and lay people who were martyred (late 1600′s). It wasn’t yet open for the season to visit but there are a few photos. Midland has a large marina for pleasure craft.
