See what happens when Mary inspires me!! I call this post “The Trilogy”. I think I look about two years old, so I think this family photo is from 1959. Back row: Gordon and Leslie Front row: Kristin and Martin. Aren’t we cute? You’ll notice that I had a ‘lazy eye’. I’m the product of modern optometry. At the age of two, they thought they would do eye surgery, but they tried correcting my eyes through gradual correction of the lens in my glasses. By sixteen I didn’t need glasses anymore. Let’s see how the years took their toll on all of us!
This photo was taken at my Grandma & Grandpa Bohrson’s (Ed and Esther Bohrson) golden wedding anniversay. I think I was ten, so that would be 1967. Back row: Leslie, Dad (Tom), Mom (Gladys), Gordon, Martin. Front row: Grandpa (Ed), Kristin, Grandma (Esther). When I see this photo of my Dad, I can’t get over how much my nephew Aaron (Martin’s oldest son) looks like him … it’s the ‘shy smile’ more than appearance. I love the dress that my Mom is wearing. I actually own that dress and when I was slim and worked at the ladies wear store (about 15 years ago) I even wore that dress. Everyone says I look like my Mom, but I don’t know … but I do have her personality and quirks (yes, Doug! only the good quirks right??).

I think this photo was taken in 1981, because if I remember correctly, Dyanne is pregnant with Russell in this photo. It was Dyanne and Gordon who gave Mom and Dad the Christmas present of a family photo shoot. This truly was a gift for all of us. None of us could know that 18 months latter my Dad would die suddenly – one week before Rhett was born.
Back row: Leslie, Martin, Gordon. Front row: Gladys, Tom, Kristin. I don’t think Martin ever grew a moustache again, but it’s kept for posterity in this photo. Are any of us starting to look familiar to our present ‘age’? I should point out the Rhett is actually older than me now, than what I was in this photo. (UGHH! I forgot to post a birthday tribute to Rhett – on July 1st he turned 26! – I’ll have to fix that mistake! And you and he can look forward to that splash of photos.)
I hope you can all see what mom has done here. The middle picture? Do you notice that when the picture gets close to her somehow (probably magic) the brightness in the picture goes way up and all of a sudden you can’t see the nerd glasses she’s wearing.
Rhett – The brightness is the halo that has always be around me. I can see it in the baby photo, too. Actually I can see the halo right now as it reflects on the computer monitor as I type.
Plus don’t you remember that I have an electro-magnetic personality that can turn lights off … and apparently boilers in parsonages, too!!
