You can hardly imagine my surprise when I arrived at church last month to having my very own “Pastor Kristin” parking sign! I did have a designated parking spot which was the spot identified as “Pastor Carla” – she is the pastor who left for a new call. I thought it was pretty slick to know I always had a spot to park. (Now I have to say I did have a problem once with my friend John from Regina who parked in my spot when the lot was full for a funeral. Easy solution – I parked in another pastor’s spot!! – I knew that pastor wasn’t attending the funeral. If I thought John from CLC was reading my blog I’d tease him even more – but I’ve continued to do my teasing in person!)
So…I drive in one morning and nearly flip! My very own sign! What a great ordination gift – thanks Glenn! My theory is that I’ll always carry two-face tape and I’ll just stick the sign up anywhere I travel. Do you think I’ll have divine intervention which will keep me from getting a parking ticket?
I couldn’t resist to include this longer-shot photo. Yes, indeed Mary! – CLC recognizes that I work 24 hours a day!!! Not just the two hours a week which you have suggested was my usual in the Georgian Bay! I work so much that my parking spot is reserved for 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Mind you, with my car always parked at the church I’m not driving too very much!! Believe it or not!
I think the Ripley’s saying should be in all my posts – “Believe it or not!”
I was thinking with the top photo you might not realize it was a parking sign. Maybe it really is referring to my personality once ordained … “reserved”.
So what’s the big deal with a parking sign when Ontario gave you a 40-car parking garage to park in?? Mind you, in Ontario we can back into our parking spots!!!!!!!!!!!
This is true – I don’t think my SK friends appreciate how large my “garage” really was!
I have to write another post about backing in to parking spots … watch for the SK version!!
