Fran’s House

As many of you know, I live at Fran’s house in Saskatoon while I attend seminary. This is how I tell the story: in first year when we met we had a business relationship (I live room & board) – after about two hours we were friends. After about days we were family! Fran’s about the same age as me. Her daughter is married and has a two year old.

The basement had a full suite when Fran bought the house about eight years ago. She gutted the basement and turned the living room (my room which is nearest to the driveway) and the kitchen into bedrooms. These are large rooms with big windows, queen sized bed, chair, desk, chest of drawers, etc. Doug stays with me when he comes to work in Saskatoon.

Fran lives not too far from a hospital and it’s her dream to open a bed and breakfast when she retires. She’s getting to experience what it’s like having ‘strange’ people in her house!! Another woman student is staying with us for a few months while she finishes off some course work. There is another bedroom downstairs, plus a full bath.
