Belated “Happy Anniversary Emerging Kristin”

I forgot to celebrate my first anniversary of writing ‘Emerging Kristin.’ My first real post was on September 6, 2007 and I wrote My Backyard in Regina. For any of you who have been following my blog, you know that I write about my backyard a lot! You have no idea of how horrible it was before…but it was perfect for raising kids because they couldn’t wreck a thing!

You have followed my through my ‘feast or famine’ of posting. Rhett keeps telling me to pace myself and to “save in draft” some of my stories and set them to publish in a day or two … but I’m always excited to share. Then the weeks go by and nothing! Thanks for hanging in because these ups and downs are a reflection of my life. Not that you can read anything into it … my not-posting has as much to do with being too busy rather than being down in the dumps … but I experience both!

To date I have had 1,208 visitors who made 6,829 visits to the site and looked at 13,803 ‘page views’.

February 1, 2008 was my single-highest day of visits – 70. I wish I could tell you how many posts I’ve written – but no data there.

Interesting … 35% of the visitors come directly to my site – they know my web address. 42% of visitors come to the site via search engines – since I get visitors from far off countries they are likely “Googling” odd ball things like ‘May 2-4′ and they end up at my site because I posted about Ontario’s name for the May long weekend. 23% come from ‘referring sites’ – that would be from folks who have me on their ‘blog roll’ and others visit my site because they saw the link on one of my friends (Rhett & Erik’s primarily) web sites.

Congratulations on a great effort, Kristin! We truly enjoy reading – and commenting! – on your sharings. By the way, what did you write about on February 1 that sparked so much interest????

  2. Mary – The archives are a treasure trove! I looked back and I’d like to suggest the “Snow Ledge – Death Trap” sparked the interest followed by “Sisterhood Challenge.” I had a number of posts in only a few days.

But “Snow Ledge – Death Trap” is another personal favourite of mine as I was sure I was going to die.

Nothing like exaggeration, now is there Kristin??? Poor Doug …..

  4. I remember that was your position on my snow ledge concern – exaggeration – but I remember the trepidation I experienced every time I opened the shed door … until of course I thought it through enough to leave the door open!!!

And then it rained … and it was no more… poor snow ledge.

  5. I couldn’t resist uploading the photo one more time! (see photo to the right)

Just more proof the exaggeration comment, I’d say!!
