Last fall Fran’s BBQ bit the dust and her good friends, Florence & Randy, had a great idea for us to go together and buy Fran a new BBQ. The problem was that her BBQ broke so late in the season & we couldn’t find a BBQ in stock. Well, it is a new season and because it is so early BBQs are on sale! The great idea was revisited and here you see Doug putting it together at Fran’s house. Doug was diligent in reading the instructions … even though they kept blowing away. Fran & I stayed outside to give Doug moral support … and directions … but it was cold and we went back inside!! Poor Doug!
Doug put the BBQ together with little problem. The main problem was the plummeting temperatures and breeze. As you can see they both look chilled.
Fran was pretty happy … and surprised by her gift. But you see … Florence & Randy and Doug & I we just love Fran. When I head back to Saskatoon in a week’s time the five of us are getting together to party and officially inagurate the BBQ.
Doug, the hero!
That’s absolutely true! I feel bad that moniker didn’t leap to my thoughts when I wrote the post.
Yes, my friends are all heroes to me! It was an absolute surprise to me which made it much more special! Now all we need is a “prayer circle” for WARM weather so we can make great use of this treasured gift. (I have been on a diet all week waiting for Florence’s special burgers!) Seven more sleeps to go….
Yeah! You talked Florence into making her famed mushroom burgers! Well, I’ll have to check out my recipe book and make a fancy salad!
I assume that DOUG gets to come to this party. After all, it was his labour of love that put the bbq together. Waiting on him would also be appropriate!!
Might be appropriate to wait for Doug … BUT …. Kristin CAN party all by herself. We know!
Doug thinks he’ll be in North Carolina but he’ll be back intime for my convocation on the Friday.
Party … I don’t know what you mean, Mary! PJ Sillypants and I had many purrfect nights!
