It is almost unbelievable but Doug and Rhett put in all the baseboards for their three bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, and all the closets. The power nailer made all the difference because Doug didn’t need to drill holes before he hammered in little nails – like he did in our house. This was a monster job but it looks so beautiful! And the job went off with very few gliches. And Doug is still able to stand upright.
Rhett took Tuesday off from work. The weather was still very cool. In the afternoon Rhett hauled even more dirt to the front and began the process of spreading the seed. More back-breaking work! His knee was giving him grief.
Here is the front flower bed as it is now. We picked up three hostas which should do well in the shady area. Leah will likely plant a few annuals once the tulips have died back.
Okay Mary – there was a little time for shopping as well. Leah found these sale shoes for me and I just couldn’t pass them up! Aren’t you glad Doug got me a new camera??
Tuesday night we rented “Paul Blart – Mall Cop” much to Rhett & Leah’s objection. It wasn’t a great movie, but Doug ‘busted a gut’ laughing throughout … lots of slapstick humour.
Doug had to work in Calgary on Wednesday morning so he jumped up early and caught the C-train. Then Rhett was off to work, too. Leah is preparing for her Masters of Sociology thesis work. She needed to meet with her advisor before she and I could leave. We got out of Calgary by 3:30. Leah’s Dad met us at the #1 Highway near their farm (near Moose Jaw) and I arrived in Regina at 11:15. Leah and I filled the trip with lots of talk!
