You know I like to have fun with monarchial references to my last name … sometimes to the extent of being at God’s right hand (sovereign/soveran – get it?) Last November Kristen took me to Costco for my very first time. What do these two things have in common, you ask?
Last week Doug phoned me to say that I had received a piece of mail addressed to “Royal Highness”. I immediately accused Mary of being behind this yet unidentified mail – she and I have a bit of a princess issue going on which doesn’t require details. Then Doug said it was from Costco – and I thought why would Mary sign me up for something. Then I remembered Kristen, but she doesn’t know the princess stuff. What’s going on?
When I finally got home I discovered it is a generic mail out – other than my address they don’t have my name (well I could put “HRH Kristin Soveran, BA, M.Div”)! The postcard says “Now it’s your turn to be princess for a day” and there is a $10 Costco cash card in it for when you become a new member.
I told Doug it would be a real change if I was treated like a princess for a day … how does Costco know so much about my needs??
Ohhhhh….pleaaazzze! Wait until I find the person from Costco who would do such a thing. Poor Doug … he’ll never hear the end of this, I’m afraid!
And, there should be a few “poor Mary’s” coming – to think Kristin would accuse me of doing something silly. Really!
Enjoy the CONTINUING royal treatment, Your Royal Highness Princess Kristin!!!!!!!!!
Mary – Can you believe the things that happen in my life? And I truly do appreciate your comments … I don’t think I’d have a purpose for this blog if it wasn’t for your keen observations and insights! This one was too good not to post … and it is true story … all my stories are true but there is at times some creative license taken!
