I went to the Lutheran Church on Sunday. It is across the street from Rhett & Leah. I was really surprised to see that they had the LTS portable display up – nothing like walking into a unfamiliar church in a different province and seeing a photo of myself. The greeter was very friendly and welcoming.
Sunday was another glorious day to be outside. As Doug and Rhett worked on the baseboards, Leah and I started planting the garden. Leah planted corn, cucumber, zuccini, peas, beans, carrots, lettuce and spinach – with tomatoes to go out later.
Here is the finished product being watered down – both for the seed and the light top soil. Fortunately/unfortunately we knew the forecast for Sunday was rain so we had to work hard to get the garden in … because we had a supper invitation out to Okotoks – Doug’s sister Sylvia (& Larry). Larry is a butcher and he prepared the best steaks that I have had in recent memory. We had a great visit.
We were tuckered out, but we rented another movie to watch – ‘The Reader’ – interesting, disturbing and I’m sure there is much more to learn about the story with a second viewing in the future. It was interesting as we talked about it the next day in terms of what stood out for each person in the movie. I did fall asleep during the middle of the movie – but I watched that part again the next day.
