Sunday Stories – Part 4

I went to the Lutheran Church on Sunday. It is across the street from Rhett & Leah. I was really surprised to see that they had the LTS portable display up – nothing like walking into a unfamiliar church in a different province and seeing a photo of myself. The greeter was very friendly and welcoming.

Leah and Kristin planting the garden Sunday was another glorious day to be outside. As Doug and Rhett worked on the baseboards, Leah and I started planting the garden. Leah planted corn, cucumber, zuccini, peas, beans, carrots, lettuce and spinach – with tomatoes to go out later.

Rhett and Leah watering the garden Here is the finished product being watered down – both for the seed and the light top soil. Fortunately/unfortunately we knew the forecast for Sunday was rain so we had to work hard to get the garden in … because we had a supper invitation out to Okotoks – Doug’s sister Sylvia (& Larry). Larry is a butcher and he prepared the best steaks that I have had in recent memory. We had a great visit.

We were tuckered out, but we rented another movie to watch – ‘The Reader’ – interesting, disturbing and I’m sure there is much more to learn about the story with a second viewing in the future. It was interesting as we talked about it the next day in terms of what stood out for each person in the movie. I did fall asleep during the middle of the movie – but I watched that part again the next day.
