Presidency

It was hard to decide what title to give for this post … somehow “first communion” seemed not quite right.

Today I presided over my first communion service. It was at Regina Pioneer Village, a large multi-level, multi-service long term care facility. There were 30+ people in attendance. Each summer, for the last four years, I have led a service there, but it my delight to be able to preside over communion as well. There are a group of volunteers, all of whom I know very well, from my home church who organize services in rotation.

Somehow it seemed quite appropriate that it would be here, at this facility where I spent a great deal of time last summer doing pastoral visits, where I would celebrate my first communion service. It was Awesome! (capitalization is intentional!) It never ceases to amaze me where God leads me to minister and encourage. Thanks be to God!
