Advent Stole

advent stole at CLC My home congregation in Regina gifted me with an Advent stole in celebration of my ordination. In this photo you see me with Pastors Bob, Dennis and Lynn.

I was thrilled when I learned that I would have the First Sunday in Advent off from preaching. This allowed me to go into Regina for a few days and attend church at CLC where I could thank the congregation in person. Click on this link if you would like to see more photos.

advent stole at CLC -2 This stole is a piece of art. It was handcrafted by Karen who is a member at CLC. She does amazing work. She also provided me with an explanation of how the Holy Spirit inspired her design. Click on this link if you would like to see that large banner that Karen designed for the congregation’s 65th anniversary.

B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L indeed! Enjoy wearing it! Too bad Advent is such a short season, eh?!

  2. Kristin says:

I have led an Advent bible study. We started at the end of October, hoping we might “slow” ourselves down if we started early enough! I used the stole as part of the teaching elements, so I got to put it on display each week. So it stretched out its ‘season’ this year.

    Very nice, Kristin

Maybe I should meet with Karen and get some ideas..I have never been an idea person, but rather my strength is in implementing others ideas. She does beautiful work. Nice to see the stole collection increase, heh Kristin? HAPPY ADVENT!

Hey Fran … good to hear from you!
Kristin’s also getting better at modelling, don’t ya think?

  6. Kristin says:

Mary & John – I did model the stole up and down the centre aisle of the church … so that everyone could see close up. I was really glad that I got the ‘runway’ … oh, I mean ‘modelling’ … no, I mean displaying of apparrel experience on internship! Little did I know how much I learned on internship I would apply to other situations!!!

  7. Dale and Joe Hary says:

    Hello Pastor Kristin
What an incredible stole! We had ask Pastor Dennis if you would be around for any part of the Christmas season and he had told us you would be. We had so hoped to see you but circumstances did
not permit so we will look forward to another time. Wishes for the best of the
    Christmas season and continued happiness
in 2010 for you and your family.

  8. Kristin says:

Thanks Dale! I hope you and Joe have a cosy Christmas together … and that 2010 brings good health for you both.
