It is December 5th and I pulled out the old, familiar, Christmas decorations and had to decide where I would everything in this new house. All the furniture is all the same but things don’t “fit” in the same way. Click here if you would like to see more photos.
In this house we do not have a formal dining room. This means the buffet and hutch are in the living room (above photo) and there is only a dinette area. I have put two extra leafs into the table in anticipation of Christmas company, but usually the table is small and round and just the right size for the alloted space. Having a few extra leafs allows me to put some decorations on the table.
I love these pieces and I thought I would have no place for them … then I spied the fridge! As an extra decorating effort – I put a blue box of Kleenex up beside it instead of the brown one that was there …… attention to detail is everything!!!
Doug has been busy baking cookies this weekend. I even wrapped a few gifts!! Doug bought a tree and it’s in the garage. Next weekend (12th) when he comes out we’ll get it put up.
Looks nice!
Merry Christmas to all!
Oh yes, detail is everything! And doesn’t it just lift our spirits? All the richest blessings to everyone! Merry Christmas and a healthy 2010 to one and all!!
Hi Kristin. You have always been a decorating whiz. We noticed that when you lived in the parsonage. We would like to thank you for carrying on with your blog. It is a wonderful tool to keep in touch with you and all your friends who share their thoughts through this medium. So, a blessed Christmas to you and all those who are regulars on this site. Even though we have not met some of them such as Fran, it feels as though we do know them. May the new year bring God’s blessings to everyone.
Hi Kristin,
Have just checked your site for the first time since August. However do you find the time to do this, even with high-speed? Anyway, it is wonderful to see your pictures and read your comments. I love your hutch. Is it an anitque?
Next week will be busy. My brother and sister-in-law from BC are coming, then Barb and Dean and families for Christmas. Donna and Phil won’t be here, but Dean and I will visit them as usual in January.
Have a lovely Christmas season.
Judy
John …. you’d like Fran! I think Fran, Kristin and I could be triplets!! Ooops, there’s also Suzanne … make that quadruplets!! This site really is fun, isn’t it?! Thanks Kristin. Christmas Blessings to all………
I love checking into the website and seeing a flurry of comments!
Judy – Thanks for checking the site! I haven’t had time to write, but finally after a three month absence I wrote about 8-10 posts and then just time delayed them to come out every few days. They are all done now, but I did just post about Doug’s new car. I’ll try to get more posts up after Christmas … surely I’ll be taking some photos!
Merry Christmas everyone!
Mary: Don’t you mean the Three Muskateers plus one??
John – you are lucky you don’t look like a girl … because you are one more pea in the pod with the rest of us!!!
