The Swift Current “Frontier Days” exhibition started yesterday. This photo is the entry gate. It is a fine piece of welding art. I had at first thought ‘kinetic’ was some type of short form for the Kinsmen Club, but that isn’t the case. A couple of decades ago they came up with that word in its proper sense – this is a community in action – in motion.
A heritage park is part of the fair grounds. I didn’t have a chance to tour through the buildings, but it will be a must see. It is call “Doc Town” after the man who was the instrumental in bringing the buildings and artifacts together.
Neat! Do you remember visiting Desboro Fall Fair … of course you will! That’s the first time you and I and Doug met. You were with Andy and Sheilah … seems like yesterday!
Hey Kristin .. what’s happened to your followers??!?!
Only the strong (foolish?!?) remain….
I almost bit on the foolish part of your last comment, Mary. But I will not stoop that low. Your first message reminded me of the first time that Liz, Riley and myself also met Kristin for the first time, and yes it seems only a short time ago. Next time we ride on the “Cheech” we will remember that day once again.
John – I was hoping our bus was going to be coming on the Cheech but we are driving around Georgian Bay & staying at a church in Barrie.
And the fair did have that very “low key” small town feel. Watch for my next post as I haven’t had time to upload photos.
Kristin. Would that church in Barrie be the Lutheran Church? Pastor Ann Kreuger recently accepted the call to Barrie. She was the former pastor in Zurich where our Pastor David spent his weekends during his years at Waterloo Seminary. Pastor Ann is a former member of St. Luke’s in Kitchener which is our home church.
No – it is the Pentecostal church.
